I loved the tree life, it made me feel as peaceful as our travelling soul felt. Tom decides to use the lessons he learns in every life to better the next. This is not a spoiler as such, because despite having these qualms I did like the book around this theory. And he moves forward and backwards in time. This is where I lose the plot a little because it plays out more like a time-slip story than that of actual ‘incarnations’ because here, the bodies of the creatures already exist before he takes over.
